ebee Smart Technologies GmbH Berlin (ebee) develops intelligent, easy-to-install components for cost-effective charging infrastructure. ebee has joined the Charging Interface Initiative e.V. (CharIN) to support and promote the global standardisation of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
The ebee charging point "Berlin" is designed to meet all current and relevant standards (in compliance with German calibration law) and can be used universally (as a wallbox, street light charging point or freestanding) with any desired backend management system. All charging points already feature hardware and software support for the ISO 15118 communication standard. By joining CharIN, ebee underlines its commitment to work closely with car manufacturers to promote this communication standard, particularly for AC charging and for supporting the Plug'n'Charge use case.
With the ebee Dynamic Load Management, the charging point also offers the necessary features for dealing with volatile energy flows in the network or overloads of the common connected load. Charging supported by ISO 15118 additionally provides the option of staggered priority– e.g. the vehicles that are to be used again within a short period of time are charged before the vehicles that are only needed after a longer time period
The "Berlin" charging point is controlled via the charge controllers of the CC612/CC613 series, developed by Bender GmbH & Co. KG in Grünberg.
"Joining this association brings us one step closer to our goal of creating sustainable and future-proof mobility based on ISO 15118," says Robert Weyrauch, Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at ebee, who is looking forward to the worldwide cooperation with CharIN.
